Shipping

Where do you ship from?

Everything ships from our studio workshop. Every parcel leaves with tracking, and you get the number by email as soon as it is on its way.

How long until my order ships?

In-stock pieces go out in 2–3 business days. Made-to-order and custom pieces ship once they are finished, after the design is approved and the confirmed lead time has passed.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, worldwide. International delivery usually takes 3–5 business days depending on destination and customs.

Will I have to pay customs or import charges?

Possibly. Any duties or taxes are set by your own country and are the buyer's responsibility. We declare every order accurately and cannot mark parcels as gifts.

Can I track my order?

Yes. You will get a tracking link by email when the parcel is despatched. If tracking has not moved in a week, write to us and we will chase the carrier.

Orders

Can I change or cancel my order?

If it has not been cut yet, yes. Email us as soon as you can with your order number. Custom pieces cannot be cancelled once cutting has started.

My order arrived damaged.

Send us photos of the piece and the packaging within 7 days. We will repair or replace it, and we will cover the shipping either way.

Can you write a gift message?

Yes. Add it in the order notes at checkout and we will put it on a plain card, with no prices included anywhere in the parcel.

Do you do gift wrapping?

Not in paper, because we avoid single-use plastic and foil. Pieces arrive in a plain kraft box with a card, which most people are happy to hand over as is.

Custom

Can you make a custom size or shape?

Usually yes. Send us the dimensions and a photo of where it will live, and we will come back with timber options, a price and a lead time.

Can you engrave or burn a name into a piece?

Yes, short text works best: a name, a date, a few words. Long paragraphs become hard to read in wood, and once it is cut there is no going back. Send us the exact wording and check it twice.

How long does custom work take?

The lead time is confirmed with your design quote for most pieces. Larger runs take longer, and we will say so before you pay.

Can you match a piece I already own?

Often, especially if it is one of our timbers. Send a photo in daylight and we will tell you honestly how close we can get. Cherry in particular will never match exactly, because it darkens with age.

Materials

Which timber should I choose for a cutting board?

Maple for a pale, hard-wearing board that hides knife marks. Walnut for something darker and warmer. Cherry if you want a board that visibly changes colour over the first year.

Are your finishes food-safe?

Yes. We use a plant-based hardening oil followed by a beeswax and oil balm. Both are food-safe once cured, which takes a few days after finishing.

Why does my piece look different from the photo?

Because wood is not uniform. Grain, colour and figure vary from board to board, and even cherry from the same tree varies. Photos are representative, not identical.

Is your timber responsibly sourced?

We buy from small independent suppliers and sawmills rather than through large distributors, and we work through boards instead of pallets. Where the origin of a specific timber is known, we will tell you.

Trade

Do you offer wholesale or trade pricing?

Yes. Trade pricing and order quantities are confirmed in your line sheet. Send us your business details and we will send a line sheet.

Do you do restaurant and cafe pieces?

We do. Repeatable serving pieces that stand up to daily washing, sized around your covers and how you serve. Tell us about the operation and we will suggest a range.

Do you dropship?

No. We do not dropship and we do not sell through marketplaces. Every piece is made and packed by us.

Repairs

Do you repair pieces?

Yes, including pieces we did not make where it is sensible to try. Send photos and we will tell you what is possible and what it would cost.

Do you sell seconds or imperfect pieces?

Occasionally. Seconds are pieces with a mark, a knot or a slight wobble. We list the flaw honestly, and the price reflects it. They are not returnable for the flaw we described.
